Below is an overview of the things that would go on my resume.
These are the things that make me an asset to any company or group. Updated 12/01
If you couldn't tell already with my name all over the page, I am Xander Simon. I am a 20 year old student attending Northeastern University in Boston, MA and I'm studying Finance Computer Science, and Mathematics. I'm not sure what else to say here that isn't covered in either of the below sections... So, I guess I'll redirect you there now (or you could scroll down a few inches).

These are the things that make me an asset to any company or group. Updated 12/01
I am currently a student at Northeastern University in the process of completing a triple major in Finance, Computer Science, and Mathemathics.
I am in the Honors Program at Northeastern, however, before matriculating to Northeastern, I took some classes at my local community colleges to prepare for college and get some credits to transfer. So, while I am only in my second year, I am of Senior standing here at Northeastern.
Bain Capital LP: Applications Developer
Starting in January 2021, I plan on joining the Private Markets and Corporate Systems Technology group at Bain by maintaining and enhancing existing systems, databases, reports and integrations.
Fidelity Investments: Investor Center Intern
In June 2021, I will be working at Fidelity. Role and responsibilities TBD.
Holiday Manufacturing: Intern
This past summer, I worked for Holiday Manufacturing as a Summer intern. Here, I increased the revenue streams by creating an automated and streamlined way of listing their consumer friendly products on different online marketplaces. I listed over 300 products on each of the following platforms: Amazon, Ebay, Etsy, and Walmart. I also created a new consumer product line and website for this product. Beyond that I also created a customer facing ribbon customization tool that allows customers to order ribbons with their own logo and choice of words. This was one of my larger projects.
Date: April - August 2020
Northeastern University: Research Assistant
In the Spring, I worked as a Research Assistant to Professor Joseph Marks in the finance department, however, my responsibilities were minimal due to COVID-19. I ensured the accuracy of the financial data so that resources could be used confidently throughout the rest of the study.

At Northeastern I have been very active on campus by joining new clubs and gaining leadership positions in them.
Northeastern University Real Estate Club (NURE)
I joined this club in Fall 2019 because I was interested in learning more about real estate. Through this club, I have made a lot of my friends, and I have learned a lot about all of the considerations that go into investing in a property.
In Spring 2020, I assumed the executive board position of Fundraising Associate, and helped create a new branch of the club: Development. As Fundraising Associate, I helped devise innovative plans to raise funds for the clubs opperations including planning multi-club events and cold calling.
In Fall 2020, I have taken on the role of Alumni & Parnership Associate in the newly developed Club Development Branch. Here I devised ways to partner with other clubs and organizations on campus to have more joint events and increase our membership base.
Finance for the Community (FFC)
FFC was one of the first clubs I joined on campus in Fall 2019. As the Vice President of my high school's chapter of Red Cross, I wanted to continue to give back to my community, except this time in a way more relevant to my professional goals. FFC is a club in which the members go to Boston Public High Schools and teach them basic finance skills since inner-city kids often don't have access to this type of information.
In Spring 2020, I became the Director of Outreach. In this position, I reached out to the Boston Public Schools and teachers to promote our program and gauge interest so that we could eventually have more places to teach and broaden our impact.
In Fall 2020, I was less active, however, in the Spring 2021 I will be helping to develop the teaching curriculum.

Below are the things that I enjoy doing in my free time. This will give a little more insight into who I am, and what makes me a unique individual outside of the workplace.
I love hiking, camping, kayaking, stargazing. Simply put, I love being in the outdoors. I was raised as a cub scout, and in high school I became a boy scout. My dad is a very nature-y person, so we used to go camping together when I was younger. Now, I go hiking with my friends when I can and camp overnight with my friends when the stars align.
Some time ago I realized that I love the rush of adrenaline that comes with doing extreme sports. The number of extreme sports are plentiful, and include some regular activities such as skiing. However, I like to do some of the more extreme of the extreme sports.
Sky Diving
On my 18th birthday, I decided to go sky diving in Pepperell, MA. This was an amazing memory that I could share with two of my friends that elected to join me in this adrenaline filled adventure. Here is a video of the experience for anyone interested.
Ziplining
In Costa Rica my family and I ziplined over 4,300 feet in 2016. We had a chance to see the wildlife in the forrest as well as enjoy the time swinging from tree to tree.
Surfing
Also in Costa Rica, we went surfing. Although surfing is a more common and mundane activity, the sense of accomplishment when finally being able to stand on the board and ride a wave was amazing.
Jetskiing
In Aruba I got the amazing opportunity to go jetskiing. It was a really fun experience, however, counterintuitively this was the sport that had me the most nervous since I was scared I was going to hit a wave too hard and flip the jetski.
ATVing
Also in Aruba my family and I went ATVing. This was one of my first times opperating a vehicle since I went when I was 13. I loved having the freedom to roam about the trails on my own, and we even drove them on the roads which was an interesting and freightening experience in itself because I got lost.
Whitewater Rafting
I've been rafting a few times: once with my boyscout troop and the other time with my family in Costa Rica. Both times were fun, but neither were as adrenaline filled as I would have liked. A good time nonetheless.
I really love travelling and experiencing new cultures. It's so interesting interacting with foreign people and learning their customs. I recognize that I am extremely lucky to have a family that enjoys traveling (almost) as much as I do, so we go on a vacation to a new destination once a year.
Due to COVID-19, my traveling plans were haulted unfortunately. I was accepted into, and planned on attending the London School of Economics this Summer to take a graduate level course on Machine Learning, however this was no longer possible. Additionally, I was planning a trip to China with my co-workers at Yama Fuji for this Summer as well, but that was ultimately cancelled as well.
To remember all of the unique places I have visited, I decided to keep a blog. I haven't posted in a while, and there are a lot of fun stories I have yet to tell on the blog. However, when I have more time I plan to update the blog with my most recent travelling endeavors. I also collect a souvenir ship from all of the foreign places I go. Right now I have 19 ships, but I use the word foreign lightly to mean anywhere that is not my hometown.

Below are a few of the projects that I have worked on. Since I started programming in Fall 2019, I haven't had the opportunity to do ground-breaking things... yet.
However, I have been keeping myself busy with my in-class assignments and personal projects.
Due to academic integrity policies I am unable to link my in-class assignments. Rather, these can be available upon request.
I made this website as part of my internship at Holiday Manufacturing. Here I tested out a bunch of new features such as dropdowns changing images, pop-ups, and abstraction with JavaScript. This was a fun project, and I learned a lot, especially in JavaScript

I made this website by learning HTML/CSS. It was my first time creating a website that wasn't through Wix.com or Blogspot, and I am really proud of how it came out.

A program that animates rectangle and ellipses by parsing files with commands that can change the shapes' size, position, color, and rotation. This was my first Object Oriented program that contains a visual component, and the program is easily extendable to include more shapes as well and other types of motions.

A game in which the player has to deduce where all the mines are on the field by the numbers on the exposed cells denoting the amount of neighboring bombs. The objective is to reveal all of the non-bomb cells on the board. This game is a replica of one that can be found here.

A fun game in which a random amount of "ships" are generated from either side of the screen. When a bullet interacts with a ship, it will explode into more bullets which can in turn hit more ships. The objective is to hit as many ships as you can with only 10 bullets. This game is a replica of one that can be found here.
